The families share their experience, including the harrowing details of the Buoie family’s escape, but also joyful memories of exchanging Christmas gifts and Vietnamese food with the Godar family. Along with historical context, speaker notes, and age group specific discussion questions, teachers can facilitate this as an opener/closer to a lesson or during May AANHPI Heritage Month.
