Frequently Asked Questions

  • How can I get involved?
There are several ways to get involved. One way is to join our Parent Liasion Program. TeachAAPI parent liaisons work hand-in-hand with our Board to evangelize and promote our programs and events in their respective schools and communities. Another way to get involved is to volunteer to help at one of our community or fundraising events. Please visit the “Attend or Volunteer” section of our website to find out about upcoming events. To get your school involved, please connect with us directly to learn about how to enroll your school as Official Partner School.
  • Where/how do you source curriculum?
Our in class curriculum is co-created in partnership with Asian American Education Project. Our other programming, book lists and events are in collaboration with our partners. We also work with our Curriculum Expert to ensure that our currriculum lines up with social studies, ELA and C3 standards.
  • How do I get my school to sign on?
Our community’s impact stems in large part from the collective, powerful voices of our wonderfully diverse group of AAPI and ally parents. Our parents believe in the power of AAPI education for all children, and the importance of TeachAAPI’s programming in their schools. If you are interested in bringing TeachAAPI to your child’s school, please connect with us and we’ll get started!
  • I’m not AAPI, how can I be an Ally?
Our programming is for all children. We firmly believe diversity in education is not for one group of people, but fundamental for every child to understand their world and the diversity around them. To learn how to build the social, emotional and intellectual skills needed to successfully navigate the future and all that it may bring. To be an ally means to advocate for diversity in education for all children.
